We decided to camp overnight at McKinney Falls State Park yesterday. We arrived there around four o'clock in the afternoon after buying groceries and when my appointment on that day was done. Upon arriving on our site, we decided to hike first, explore the area some more and take photos, of course. As shutterbugs, we didn't want to miss any photo-ops.
Maybe veer off the trail for a little bit? Hmmm, considering. Just kidding. :)
Stop by to check out some early wildflower blooms along the trail.
Approaching twilight, we headed back to the camping grounds
so we can still have some light left to set up our tent.
Finally, finished setting up our tent and hubby is building a campfire.
Campfire made. Time to relax and prepare dinner. Dinner was grilled hotdogs in a bun.
We did forget mayo and cheese but it was still yummy.
Getting sleepy after dinner. Got a little excitement and a raccoon came by to check our table.
We had to put away all our stuff to prevent curiosity by the night prowlers.
This is around six in the morning. Took his photo before waking him up for a morning walk.
Beautiful morning with sun starting to rise. Saw some deer during our walk to the lower falls area.
We walked for about an hour and returned to camp for coffee and breakfast.
We had a lot of fun and looking forward to the next one. Hopefully it won't be as chilly as last night.
Thank goodness we bought new, thicker sleeping pads and that helped to ward off the chill.
