Out in the Lake

At the Golden Gate Park, my husband spied a turtle in the small lake but it went under so fast that I didn't see it right away. So, it took some patience to wait for it to come back up in the surface. Our patience finally paid off and I was able to take these snapshots.

I kept muttering "come on, show up- come on, come closer". After what seemed like half an hour, it came close like 2 feet away from me. Pangga and I were cheering like kids.

I was trying to adjust my zoom when I took the photo below. The sun was out and the its glare was quite strong in the lake. It was a bit far and all I could distinguish against the glare was the duck's colorful feathers. I didn't even take a second look after I snapped the shutter in this general direction. Oh, how I wish I did!

Imagine my surprise when I was reviewing our photos when we got home. The computer's wide screen showed that what I thought was only a duck on top of the rock, was in fact this cute scene: 3 turtles snuggling/ sunbathing with the duck. Oh well, at least I got one photo. I just wish it was clearer. Now what did they say about, "What you've been looking for is right in front of you." I should be more observant next time.

It's Spring!

Yesterday was the first day of spring, so we were so excited to go out and enjoy it. We decided to take a walk at Golden Gate park. A lot of people were up and about, savoring the beautiful day as well.

We headed to to the Botanical garden towards the Redwood trees and had a mini picnic under its majestic branches. We feel that it's a mystical place and deserves great respect.

The cherry blossoms are in full bloom too & people kept having their picture taken under its pretty blooms. That included us, of course. It really was a relaxing & enjoyable day. We're now fully recharged to take on the week!

Backyard Concerto

"Chirp, chirppy, cchiirrpp" goes my backyard neighbors. They're having a concerto and my heart does a "taptaptippitytap" in response. I grab my camera and try to locate those swift chirping birds. I bet they're singing because spring is here.

Oh look, I see the first robin of spring!

I love the rain, its rhythmic splish-splash is so comforting. I love how the earth smells and how the trees are greener after it rains. It also brings back happy memories of childhood laughter & taking showers under the rain gutter. Of course, it was when I lived in a tropical country where the rain is a welcome respite from the sweltering heat. I don't get to do that nowadays since the weather here is colder. But I still love to hear its rhythm and capture the clinging raindrops.

(Travel all over the world by clicking icon.)

Met with friends today at the Food Emporium of Westfield San Francisco Centre.

I enjoy being by myself, having my own space and be immersed with whatever activity or hobby I'm fascinated at a given time. As much as I'm comfortable with my own company, there's also a part of me that wants to connect with other people. Time spent with others, especially friends, are also happy times. It's important to connect, share and be part of the lives of others.
